In speaking with people about my new anthology, it came to my attention that not everyone knows what flash fiction is.
Many people are familiar with a six-word story (Yes, that can be a full story) I won't quote it here, but it is about unworn baby shoes that were never worn.
We all felt it, the joy of a new baby, and then its death. We felt the parent's pain. We knew what happened. Although place was not mentioned, the setting could have been anywhere in the world. A universal story.
That is the essence of flash fiction. Maximum impact without being verbose and repetitive like AI.
